Enhancements of the Reports module

Written by Martin Karlowitsch | June 17, 2019

We just shipped a new version of our easy job shop scheduling software. This time, we spent a lot of efforts on some internal code cleansing and stabilization. In addition to this, we also enhanced the Reports module to provide you with even more meaningful data points when running reports. First, you now can also define an own "time unit for reporting". That means, that you can e.g. schedule in minutes, but run reports in hours. Second, we now allow you to differentiate process time, cycle time and throughput time - both on job and on task level.

Time unit for reporting

This function applies to all customers on the STARTER plan using also the Reports module. Under settings, you now can define the "time unit for reporting".

That way, you can e.g. schedule in minutes, but report in hours (which often is much more meaningful when you think of the Capacity Report).

Introducing new reporting values

This function applies to all customers on the STARTER plan using also both the modules Reports and Detailed Times. We introduced both on job and on task level three new values that users can integrate into their reports.

New values on task level

On task level, these values are:

  • Task process time
  • Task cycle time
  • Task throughput time

They are defined as:

  • Task process time = set-up time + production time + tear-down time
  • Task cycle time = task process time + transfer time
  • Task throughput time = task cycle time + waiting time

New values on job level

On job level, these values are:

  • Job process time
  • Job cycle time
  • Job throughput time

They are defined as:

  • Job process time = sum of set-up time + sum of production time + sum of tear-down time
  • Job cycle time = job process time + sum of transfer time
  • Job throughput time = job cycle time + sum of waiting time

These new values can now be pulled into the job report and into the task report.

That's it for this time. However, we are working on more to come ... and are happy getting your suggestions for future releases.

And by the way: If you are not a just plan it user so far, why not create a FREE account and check out the software, and how you can achieve an easy production scheduling.
